The brother to our van der Kamp Vineyard bottling represents the confluence
of our experimental nature and passion for tradition. The wine in these two bottles comes
from the same source, but each has taken a different path and not surprising, each has
developed its own individual character.
Our second vintage produced from this small, family operated, 1.25 acre site is an exciting follow-up to the 2013 vintage. Aromas of ripe blackberry and wild strawberris mingle with notes of lavender, reductive tar and cardamom. Ripe fruit flavors and silky soft tannins are brought together with captivating acidity on the persistent finish. Decanting is recommended for drinking now, but this wine should be enjoyable over the next 10 years or more.
The second vintage for us from the English Hill vineyard and it is becoming a winery favorite. The vineyard exudes a true expression of Sonoma Coast Pinot with aromas of bright and lively red fruits highlighted by a smoked citrus component that mingle with juniper, sumac, tobacco and cedar. Slightly more stout in structure than its Russian River Valley brother; its cools site origins are apparent with the cranberry and pomegranate flavors wrapped up in lingering finish of citrus pith. Drink now or over the next 10 years. This wine will reward those with some patience.
Our house theme of producing Pinot noir that is not typically "California" in style, has prevailed once again and is on full display with this bottling. Aromas of petrol, tar, tobacco, dried rose pedals, red fruits, star anise and ginger rise from the glass. Fresh, bright flavors of wild strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate and blood orange are interlaced with juniper berry, black tea, smoked meats and soft chewy tannins. Although this complex wine is approachable now, it will only improve over the next 10-15 years. Decanting is highly recommended.

A medium ruby color introduces a complex bouquet dominated by aromas of ripe raspberries, white flowers, blood orange, and smoked meats. Similar flavors decorated with a tar or resin characteristic sweep across the palate. Chewy tannins and a mineral laced finish hint at its mountain side origins. Designed to age this wine should provide exceptional drinking experiences for the next 8 or more.

A medium, ruby-red color introduces a complex bouquet of leather, tar, brined olives, crushed herbs, and dried rose petals. Flavors of dried fruits, sumac, anise and lavender float across the palate. Smooth, soft
tannins are balanced by perfect acidity that creates a lingering, red-fruited finish. Drink now or over the next 10 years or more.
